To be able to apply for a Private Security Licence in Victoria, you need to provide a certified Statement of Results for Certificate II in Security Operations.
National Police Check (fingerprint) cost $205.10 and the Security Licence cost $523.50. A Private Security Licence is generally valid for 3 years after which you must pay a renewal fee.
The types of jobs depends on the training completed. If you have completed a Certificate II in Security Operations, you can expect a range of entry-level roles such as security guard with healthcare facilities or shopping centres, mobile patrol, control room operator, retail loss prevention, asset protection, crowd control just to name a few.
